About PaycheckTally

PaycheckTally builds free, fast calculators that help working people in the United States understand their pay. Payroll taxes are confusing, vary by state, and change every year — our goal is to make the math transparent in a few seconds, with no signup and no spreadsheets.

How we keep figures accurate

Our federal numbers (tax brackets, the standard deduction, and the FICA Social Security wage base) reflect the IRS amounts for tax year 2026. State income tax rates are based on each state's published 2026 schedule. We deliberately hold back a state's calculator until we have verified its current-year data, rather than publish an estimate that might be wrong.

What our calculators do not include

To stay simple and fast, the estimates exclude tax credits, itemized deductions, local city or county income taxes, and other personal adjustments. They are a strong starting estimate, not a substitute for advice from a qualified tax professional. See our full disclaimer.
